In April, a parent in Wappinger reported a sexual offense to New York State Police investigators, alleging the offense involving a child. The subsequent investigation found that Wappinger resident David Fernandes allegedly sent the "inappropriate sexual material to a child under the age of 17."
Fernandes was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree disseminating indecent material to a minor, a felony.
Following arraignment, Fernandes was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bail bond, and a full stay away order of protection was requested on behalf of his victim and granted.
Fernandes is due back in the Town of Wappinger Court on June 27 to answer the charge.
